An initial assessment of the collection was carried out by CJP Broadcast before beginning the transfer process, using M2000 and VHS machines alongside a Sony PDW-U1 in the digitisation process. Each recording was digitised using controlled ingest workflows and transcoded to Matroska FFV1 for long term archival storage.
The completed archive provides European Gymnastics with a centralised and accessible digital collection, supporting internal reference, historical documentation, and wider media use.
"This has been an important project for safeguarding valuable recorded material. Digitising large archives requires a structured and careful approach, and we are pleased to have supported European Gymnastics in securing their content for the future," said Chris Phillips, Founder and Managing Director at CJP Broadcast.
European Gymnastics contacted CJP Broadcast as the organisation wanted to take the archive content out of the shadows and make it accessible to fans worldwide. “We wanted to preserve our content as it’s our historical legacy. Covering over forty years of gymnastics history, the value to our community is immense and it deserves to be visible. The guidance and work of CJP Broadcast were essential in completing this complex project for which we are grateful”, said Tina Gerets, Head of Media at European Gymnastics.
The project adds to CJP Broadcast’s portfolio of digitisation work for federations, broadcasters, and public organisations, supporting the preservation of significant media collections.
